Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-2 Class S-1-A 2830 on September 27, 1953, location unknown but likely Aurora, Illinois, photographer unknown, print by Tom Klinger, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 2830 was built by Alco (Schenectady) in September 1907 (c/n 43475) as a Class S-1, rebuilt in 1928 to Class S-1-A, sold for scrap in February 1954. The extra plumbing and large turbo-generator ahead of the cab was to supply electricity to commuter coaches.
