Built as IC GP9 9065 in December 1954 (C/n 19907) on EMD Order 5319, it was rebuilt at Paducah, Kentucky to GP10 8065 in 1970. It was sold to CC, later renumbered to 1765, eventually becoming EE 27.

Description:  This ex-Illinois Central was built by EMD in 1971 (serial #20293) but during the spin-off craze in the 1980's, the CC was created from the Iowa Division on Christams Eve, 1985 and stocked with IC locos like this 1850 hp one. Later in 1996, the loco was sold back to the IC.
