Wearing a badly faded version of Amtrak's silver and black switcher scheme, CF7 #598 shunts amid the festivities of the LAUPT 50th. This engine began life as Santa Fe F7(A) #211C in 9/49. It was rebuilt into CF7 #2595 in 11/72, and has the rounded roof line of early CF7s that kept that small piece of their F bodies. Amtrak received it in a complicated trade of CF7s and SWs for SDP40Fs in 9/84. |
