| Those snobs at railpictures.net rejected this for being "bad angle" being a going away shot, even though just a few photos before, they took another photographer's photograph which was a going away shot. I suspect the real problem was that it was an Amtrak shot in a not very interesting area (the rear 3/4 view isn't the best of the P42DC and downtown Rocky Mount isn't exactly scenic). Had it been more interesting power with that type of smoke display or a scenic location, maybe. I still like it due to all of the smoke from it accelerating away from the Rocky Mount station - I think this was The Palmetto - and that fact is what really counts. |
