Ted Brumberg	General	Built in 1952 by Budd in Lot #9660-112 to Plan #9531 as CB&Q 10RM-6DB sleeper #433 SILVER MEADOW for the BLACK HAWK, 1 of 8 such cars built in that Lot, 4 for the BLACK HAWK, 2 for the AMERICAN ROYAL ZEPHYR, and 2 "protection" cars for the CALIFORNIA ZEPHYR. All 8 were sold to Amtrak in 1971 as #2656-#2663, and were converted to HEP accessible sleepers between 1981 and 1984. These 8 sleepers were part of a 34 car order placed by the Burlington Route in March 1951; cars were delivered between June and December of 1952. The SILVER MEADOW (#2660) was converted to HEP #2465 in 1982, and was sold to the North Florida Chapter NRHS in 1995. When Amtrak changed names on sleepers, this was usually done during the conversion to HEP.	7/16/2014 9:53:45 PM

Ted Brumberg	General	The retirement of the #2465 in 1995 meant that A. PHILLIP RANDOLPH could be applied to 1 of the 6 new Bombardier-built all-bedroom Superliner II sleepers that were specifically ordered for the AUTO TRAIN. These 6 cars were originally planned to all be assigned PALM-series names, but 2 cars were instead given biographical names: #32502 W. GRAHAM CLAYTOR, JR. and #32503 A. I do not know where this car landed after the closing down. Also, this car might have had a different name when working for Amtrak.
