The Amtrak Downeaster coasts through the marsh in Scarborough. This spot is one of the fastest points (within Maine) for the train on the line from Portland to Boston, as the train hits somewhere around 80 to 85 mph here, I believe. It feels like at least that much when it passes by, even from a distance. |
