Up until the early 1960’s Western Union owned a fleet of railroad cars for maintaining its telegraph and telephone lines that were located along railroad tracks. The 7559 was a material car; but other equipment included foreman & bunk cars in the 1000-series, kitchen & dining in the 2000-series, tool cars in the 3000-series and water cars in the 4000-series. |
