NORMAN OK February 1986 -- Santa Fe SD40-2 5139 approaches the East Brooks Street crossing on its way east (compass north) with seven other units and a mixed freight in rapidly fading afternoon light. EMD built the 5139 in December 1980 as an RCE receiver with a 123-inch snoot nose to house the extra radio equipment. It underwent maintenance at Morrison Knudsen in 1984.
