| Part of the Amtrak exhibit train that was on todays PO30-16 Capitol Limiited from Chicago to Washington. This F40PH NPCU was released with new Amtrak 40th Anniversary Phase III paint on April 10. 2011. It is a non-powered control unit, meaning there are no engines of its own inside but the crew can control other powered locomotives on a train from within. I normally hate going out and photographing trains on ugly overcast days like this but I had to make an exception this time. |
