A dual-mode APLD45-DP leads a train west during the evening in the swamps of Secaucus on 10/22/12. Originally purchased to allow a one-seat ride for the ex-Erie lines when new tunnels were built under the Hudson River, they were a locomotive in need of a need. With damages to the Gladstone Branch from Hurricane Sandy, the dual modes are not pulling trains over the former (until repairs can be made) electrified Gladstone Branch. |
