Shaker Heights rapid transit PCC 91 at about 55th Strret in Cleveland, Ohio on February 4, 1967, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 91 was on of 25 PCC's (road #'s 71-95) built by Pullman Standard in 1947. They were the only PCC's built new for the SHRT and featured center doors on the left side in anticipation of a center platform subway system that was never built. Anyone know the purpose of the cutout windows on the right (photo left) side of the car? |
