CO 4-8-2 #545 - Chesapeake & Ohio  Contributor's Pick!       
This class J-2 "Mountain" type locomotive was built by Alco in 1918 and served the mountainous section of the C&O as best it could. Unfortunately, no information was included to indicate the location, date or photographer of this photo. Looks like a West Virginia setting.
