Here's another view of #171 built by Alco-Brooks in March of 1927. The unknown photographer wrote on the back of the photo "NKP 4-6-4 #171. Idle for oves 1 year, (June, 1956 was the last active month), but she is servicable. Still has "live" grease on her crosshead guides, coal in her tender. She is missing a bell, however." Note that there was a hole in the phowograph on the master cylinders. |
