A very confusing search for info has a few conflicting listings. Apparently this is an EMD SW1 built around 1939-42 and was loaned to the Pacific Electric. The very small PE to the right of the headlight identifies it as one of the loaners. Thanks to Rick Morgan (see comment below) for helping to correctly identify this loco. Mike Woodruff added a touch of Hollywood in his comment below with the cars possibly being moved for the movie "three for Bedroom C". Interesting idea. Thanks to both Rick & Mike for their help. It only took the RRPA crash and 12 years to correct this listing! |
