Yard power, and a rare road unit
Conrail used many of the ex PC SW1500s for local and yard jobs in the New York area. We see one here at Oak Point in company of a much more unusual unit, though a regular visitor to the city. Selkirk was home base to much of CRs GE fleet including the four U36Bs. They were a common sight on SELI/LISE and its occasional modification, SEOP/OPSE, the connection to the Long Island at Fresh Pond. U36B 2974 is on hand today, and will return to Selkirk later in the evening.
