| But this is ridiculous!! Sumitomo Rail in Elmira Heights was rebuilding cars for the NYCTA, and trucking them to and from the city. This IRT car was on a flat bed trailer near Apalachin. Sumirail had a contract for several other models as well, and for the next few years, it was not uncommon to see subway cars out on the highway. |
