Nice, original photo by Charles Houser as it works the Barr Yard. Built by EMD in May of 1942 (builder #1606) as #221, it was renumbered in January of 1974 according to The DieselShop webpage but this slide was dated 4/26/1961 so a contradiction. Specifics - 2 stroke, 45 degree V6 engine that produced 600 hp at 800rpm. Sold to Central Station Warehouse - date unknown. |
