Date, location, and photographer are unknown. Built July 1854 by the Portland Works (SerNo68) it was Locomotive #1 for an MEC predcessor The Penobscot & Kennebec RR which ran between Waterville & Bangor in 1855. This locomotive became MEC #11. It was sold to the Credit Valley in May of 1879. A tip of the hat to Richard F Dole and William D Edison of the RLHS for the research I've drawn upon for this series of photographs. /DL |
