July 1896 Engine 139 at Crawford Station. The Reading Dispatch boxcar on the siding in the background is a nice touch as well. If I read the back ground properly the train is headed west. There’s a velocipede on the platform and it looks like some of the passengers are looking under the deck, perhaps someone’s cat has taken a hike... ? #139 built by the Rhode Island Works in 1891 was scrapped in June of 1914. Cyl 19x26 with 56 /1/2 inch drivers. Builders # 2616 according to RR History #152. /DL |
