C1895 is my estimated date. No notes with this old print. Built by the Portland Works in August 1886, the builder number is 542 this 4-4-0 had cylinders at 17x24 inches turning 69 inch drivers. This was MEC’s 2nd #14. This locomotive was renumbered to 53 in 1900 and was scrapped in July of 1909. The car behind the tender is MEC baggage and or RPO #279. Anyone know where Citizens Coal Co was located?? /DL |
