Good Day. Here is an original photo that I took at the Bedford Street Crossing in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 July 1960. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8653, an AS-18M road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in December of 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. It is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train into the Hollidaysburg Yards. The Passenger Station is to the immediate rear. You can almost hear the crossing-gate bells ringing! #8 of 12. |
