SP 4609 is looking a bit down after a derailment and is waiting for repairs. This caboose was part of a fifty car order (SP 4600-4649) C-50-7 built by Pacific Car & Foundry in 1978. When delivered this car wore the standard Espee dress of mineral red and orange. In 2015, this car was given a hybrid yellow and red scheme making it one of a kind and is based in East Texas functioning as a caboose (not shoving platform). Note the lights have been removed from the rooftop bracket. |
