Built by Alco/GE for the New York Central as their R2 class #1240 in June of 1931 (bldr #68268/11191), it was renumbered 340 in August 1936 and sold to CSS&SB in 1955. It was then rebuilt to serve the CSS as 754 in 1956 and finally scrapped in April 1976. Unknown photographer on a fan trip took this photo as the unit stopped near Wagner Road in Porter County, IN. |
