| 4th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during November of 1960. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #9539 and #9565. Both are EF-15's built by EMD in 1948 and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. They have just passed under the 4th Street Bridge and are pulling a coal train into the Eastbound Receiving Yard. Visible on the right are the largely-unused livestock pens, right next to SOUTH Tower (not shown). ("Red Shift" slide converted to Black & White.) |
