Photo Caption: "Number 3700 was the largest steam locomotive ever built for the Road, and the first articulated engine ever to be equipped with four single-expansion cylinders. Designated as Class HC1s, she boasted a tractive force of 147,640 pounds!" #3700 is an HC-1S (2-8-8-0) "Articulated" built in Juniata during June of 1919 and retired in August of 1929. |
