ARB. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, in September of 1959. In the foreground is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7606, an ES-17M built by GM-EMD in 1957 and rated at 1,700 horsepower. Pushing N-8 cabin car #478118 to connect with a westbound freight train are PRR engines #8672 and two more RSD-12's whose numbers are not recorded. All are AS-18M's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 1,800 horsepower each. #8672 was built in March of 1958. Photo taken from Juniata's 8th Street Bridge. |
