Partial Caption: "The E-8 locomotive No. 5899 leads sister units at Horseshoe Curve for the excursion special bringing visitors to the dedication of K-4s steam locomotive No. 1361 on June 8, 1957." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5899 and two more E-8's whose numbers are not recorded. All are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5899 was built in March of 1951. |
