Fairly nice photo by Otto C. Perry of the Lima 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotive although the C&O referred to them as "Greenbriers". The unit was delivered in December of 1935. Seen here a year after delivery, it still has its shiny boiler shell and clean white wall rims. The locos in the class were given patriotic names - this one was "Patrick Henry". The J-3 class was retired in 1953. |
