Here is the first of three successive photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on 18 September 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #460, an E-6S (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata during August of 1914 and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. This is the so-called Lindbergh Locomotive. In this context, it's been readied to pull a railfan excursion train. Raymond C. Laws Collection. |
