Here is the front cover of a 40-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "A Picture Study Of The K-4." First issued in October 1967, revised in September 1976. Photo Caption: "Rolling down the Alleghenies, Train 44 with engine 122 on the headend was bound for New York when Charles B. Chaney took this picture sometime in 1922." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #122 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1917 and retired in November of 1955 after 38 years of faithful service. Wave to the Engineman! |
