When this photo was taken at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal, the 753 was the last E6A still operating on the Louisville & Nashville. The locomotive had been built in June 1942 as the 453A, was renumbered 753 in 1946, was retired on 10 February 1971 and was used as trade-in credit with EMD. (approximate date of photo) |
