CR 5001         
Conrail conductor Ken Taylor caught this approaching B36-7 unit outisde Hudson, OH. The unit is barely 2 months old having been deliivered in November of 1983. Eventually this loco became CSX 6783 after the CR split.

Tom Beckett General Cool stuff, and unusual to see this many photos taken from engine cabs. The B 36-7's were a common sight on intermodal trains in that era-from 1983 on, though after the B 40's arrived in 1988, they often ran together, with one or more of each on most trains. I used to see then routinely on Southern Tier stack trains. 5/24/2020 4:18:05 AM
