Duplexes. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Passenger Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, c. 1950. Shown here is engine #5543, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during July of 1946 and retired in January of 1956 after just a decade of revenue service. In this context, it's about to couple onto a passenger train bound for Altoona and points West. All ABOARD! ("PrrFan18n") |
