DAR Plaque, Hollidaysburg, 1964
Here is an original photo that I took at "The Diamond" in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, in December of 1964. Shown here is the Daughters of the American Revolution's historical plaque recounting some local history. It neglects to mention that Hollidaysburg was once the western terminus of the Pennsylvania Main Line Canal/eastern terminus of the Allegheny Portage Railroad (1834-1854), and later played an important role in the development and sustainment of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
