Lookout Mountain Incline Railway car No. 2 was at the line’s lower terminal, 3917 St. Elmo Ave. in Chattanooga. Cars 1 and 2 had been built by the Southern Coach Manufacturing Co. of Evergreen, Alabama in 1949 and remained in service until 1987. Southern Coach Lines operated the incline from the 1940’s until 26 January 1973, when it was acquired by the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority. |
