Entering the Amsterdam train shed is one weird looking trainset, NS ICM #9423 "Koplopers", with the cab that looks like a Boeing plane! The ICM stands for "InterCity Materieel" or intercity rolling stock while "Koploper" nickname refers to a walk-through head" design on the original models, all which have been changed. This type of train built by Talbot was designed for long-distance intercity service at speeds of up to 180 km/hr (112 mph).. |
