Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Union Station in Chicago, Illinois, on 17 August 1947. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #7691, a B-6S (0-6-0) switcher built by the Lima Locomotive Works as a B-6 during November of 1913, rebuilt in Juniata as a B-6S in April of 1927, and retired in March of 1952 after 39 years of faithful service. Note the "Duplex" parked between the switcher and the passenger cars. Williams Collection. |
