Here is page 14 of the 18-page "Overview" in David Fritz & A. Berle Clemensen's special study entitled "Pennsylvania Main Line Canal: Juniata And Western Divisions." It was published originally by the National Park Service, US Department of the Interior, in February of 1993 ~ and later republished by Forgotten Books in 2018. Textual Excerpt: "During the busy season, boats plied the canal in one direction or the other at fifteen to twenty minute intervals. In a representative season, which averaged thirty-six weeks, 3,600 boats arrived at Hollidaysburg from the east. Two to three of the daily arrivals were passenger vessels, while the remainder were either freight or a combination of passenger and freight." |
