To the far right is Chicago, South Shore & South Bend express baggage car with the slogan "Fast Emergency Package Service". It was built by St. Louis Car in 1926 as Indiana Railroad combine #375 but later picked up and converted by the CSS shops into the baggage car. Strangely, it now resides as a static display under shelter in Scottsburg, IN. This southern Indiana city is far from the car's original CSS home. To the left of it is CSS interurban #33. This is a scan I did from Lawrence H. Boehning's original negative. |
